Finding out I was pregnant
After being married for only 6 months and being on the depo shot not missing a shot, I found out I was pregnant. I did not want to believe the doctor because I was on birth control and my plan was have a child in two years. Everything happens for a reason and trust having my son was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I was scared, nervous, and doing a lot of research. First rule ever! Do not get upset if your pregnancy does not go as you planned it to go! Most of the time the pregnancy never goes as planned. Everybody kept saying to me that pregnancy is a beautiful thing, but it was the worse thing to ever go through! I think the uncertainty was getting the best of me. Not knowing if everything was ok every second was getting the best of me. Oh and hearing everybody else stories about their pregnancy. No one is going to have the same pregnancy experience. The comment that offended me the most is someone saying "People act like being pregnant is a disability." My opinion, being pregnant is a short term disability. It is a life or death situation for you and your unborn child. So many things can go wrong. You can go in labor early, you can develop gestational diabetes, you can develop severe preeclampsia. So in essence, it is a disability and a big deal. Tone everyone out about their pregnancy stories. Trust I wanted to slap every person that had something to say about pregnancy and thought I wanted to hear it. Well since I found out I was pregnant at the end of the first trimester and did not get any symptoms until I found out, the next blog post will be about the second trimester. Stay tuned for the joys of the second trimester!
